Obituary of Dorothy Strickland

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorothy Strickland announce her passing at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre, Harbour Breton, NL on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the age of 79. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Darlene (Jeffrey Roberts), Hermitage, NL, Jeffery, Sault Ste Marie, ON, Tracy, Milltown, NL; grandchildren: Paul Roberts (Danielle) & Julia Brushett; sister: Abigail Hoskins, Milltown, NL; brothers: Robert King (Marlene), Conne River, NL, Kenneth King (Violet), Milltown, NL, Eric King (Genevieve), Milltown, NL & Harvey King (Jackie), Milltown, NL, as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband: Harry Strickland; parents: Elias & Rose King; daughter in law: Robyn Hunter. Dorothy was born in Milltown on January 3, 1946. She was one of six children. She met the love of her life Harry Strickland, they were married for 50 years. Dorothy was a caregiver right from a young age, she always loved to be so attentive to her siblings, children and most of all to her two precious grandchildren. She worked in homecare for 26 yearsand she cherished all of her clients. Dorothy was the most loving and caring person, she loved to take care of everyone and welcomed visitors and company. She loved attending church and singing in the church choir. Dorothy was loved by everyone she met all her life. She will be sadly missed by many people. Funeral service on Monday April 28, 2025 at 2 pm at Christ Anglican Church, Milltown, with Rev.Bruce Vallis officiating. Interment at Christ Anglican Cemetery, Milltown. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes’ Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban’s.
