Marie Patricia Ricketts, 84, of Deer Lake, NL, passed away on June 18, 2025 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL. Marie was born in St. Anthony, NL on September 2, 1940. Loved by all who knew her, Marie had a great sense of humor, laughing every chance she had. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, knitting, playing Skip-bo, watching Coronation Street and attending her local church. Marie is survived by her children: Marion (Brent), Ken (Roz), Wallace (Sue), Joan (Arnold) & Joseph (Rita); grandchildren: Danni, Michael (Jill), Katrina (Mike), Kaitlyn (Megan), Heather (Howard), Joshua, April, Charlotte & Rebecca; great-grandchildren: Taylor, Olivia, Emma & Tristan; siblings: Mary (Winston), Sadie (Lew), Garland, Clarence (Leah), Stan (Linda), Brian (Velma), Eldon (Kim), Brenda (Terry), Sam (Ruby), Gord Goldie) & Brenda (Wayne); brother in law: Clar as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends including her loving aunt Rita. She is preceded in death by her husband: Hubert Ricketts; daughters: Alva & Neta Ricketts; siblings: Gladys, Rex, Harvey, Roy & Debbie; mother: Pearl Davis; step father: Darius Davis; grandparents: Joseph & Charlotte Blanchard. Visitation will be held at Parsons Funeral Home, Deer Lake on Friday June 20, 2025 at 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held at Deer Lake Emmanuel Pentecostal Church on Saturday June 21, 2025 at 1pm with Pastor Jeffrey White officiating. Interment will be held at Sop’s Arm Pentecostal Cemetery at 4pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hynes ‘ Coast of Bays Funeral Home, ST. Alban’s.
