It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alex Coombs announce his passing at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the age of 73. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Gladys; children: James (Yolanda), Gaultois, NL, Jill (Danny House), St. Alban’s, NL, Peggy (Trevor Kenny), Grand Falls-Windsor, NL & Paula (Jordan Boone). Point of Bay, NL; grandchildren: Joel, Katelyn, Brady, Kenneth, Rebbeca & Julie; sisters: Molly (Clarence Norman), St. John’s, NL & Rose Clouther, Fortune, NL, as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters: Lavinia Keeping, Alice Abbott, Triffie Coombs & Irene Billard; parents: James & Emma Coombs. Alex was a dedicated member of the Canadian Rangers for 40 years and an active leader of Junior Canadian Rangers. Due to the government regulations regarding Covid-19 there will not be any public visitation. There will be a private family Funeral service on Saturday August 8, 2020 at 2 pm at Christ Anglican Church, Milltown with Rev. Hubert Vallis officiating. Interment at Christ Anglican Cemetery, Milltown, NL. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes’ Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban’s.
