It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frances Kealey announce her passing at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s, NL while surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the age of 77. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 56 years: John Kealey; children: Kathleen Kealey, St. Alban’s, NL, Ann Kealey, St. Alban’s, NL, Patrick Kealey, Fort McMurray, AB, Mary Kealey, Fort McMurray, AB, Sean Kealey, Kelowna, BC, Briege (Kurt Gunn), Morell, PE, Brian Kealey (Debra), St. John’s, NL & Shamus Kealey (Nicole), St. John’s, NL; grandchildren: John Geir, Gudmund, Ashley, Cian, Kaitlin & Liam; sisters: Ann McDonald, Conne River, NL, Bernadette (Boyd Pack), Milltown, NL, Yvonne (Gary Crawford), Edmonton, AB, Thomasina MacDonald, St. Alban’s, NL & Jackie Lake, St. John’s. NL; brothers: Cosmas MacDonald (Karen), St. Alban’s, NL, Albert MacDonald (Patsy), St. Alban’s, NL & Cletus MacDonald (Tracey), St. Alban’s, NL, as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters: Mary Vickers & Marjorie Ditto; brothers: Anthony MacDonald, Patrick MacDonald & Roland MacDonald; parents: Cornelious & Myrtle MacDonald; brothers in law: Michael Vickers, Melvin McDonald & Dave White; nephew: Andy Ditto. Frances was born and raised in St. Albans, NL. where she and her husband continued to live and work and raise their 8 children. Frances had a zest for life and people and a smile that could light up any room. Her friendly nature showed every time she spoke and it was evident in the love of family, friends, neighbours and community members. Frances loved politics. She was a firm supporter in her party and often canvassed and gave her time and energy to help when needed. Frances had many interests in life - business management, aquaculture development & gardening but her true joy and passion was her family. She showed her love every day to her husband, children, grand children, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews. Funeral service on Wednesday November22, 2023 at 3:00 pm at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban’s, with Father Tom Duffenais officiating. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban’s. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes’ Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban’s.
