It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Kealey announce his passing at the Connaigre Peninsala Health Centre, Harbour Breton, NL on Monday, November 18, 2024 at the age of 88. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Kathleen Kealey, St. Alban’s, NL, Ann Kealey, St. Alban’s, NL, Patrick Kealey, Fort McMurray, AB, Mary Kealey, Fort McMurray, AB, Sean Kealey, Kelowna, BC, Briege (Kurt Gunn), Morell, PE, Brian Kealey (Debra), St. John’s, NL & Shamus Kealey (Nicole), St. John’s, NL; grandchildren: John Geir, Gudmund, Ashley, Cian, Kaitlin & Liam, as well as a large circle of other nephews, nieces relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife: Frances; brothers James, Bernard, Charles, Patrick, Peter & Phelim; sisters: Kathleen & Sheila; parents: Charles & Catherine Kealey, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. John was born in the townland of Tamniaran, Castledawson, Co. Derry and attended New Row Primary School, Castledawson, he then went on to attend St. Column's College, Co. Derry. In his youth he played football with his brothers for St. Malachy's Gaelic Football Club. Funeral service on Saturday November 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban’s, with Father Tom Duffenais officiating. Interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Alban’s. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to Hynes’ Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban’s.
