It is with great sadness that the family of the late Howard Barnes announce his passing at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Centre, Harbour Breton, NL on Thursday February 24, 2017 at the age of 89. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Agnes; children: Madonna Barnes, London, ON, Regina (Harry Haggerty), St. Alban's, NL, Bernadette (Isadore Farrell), St. Alban's, NL, Theresa (Bernard Organ), St. Alban's, NL, Joan (Robert Hoskins), St. Alban's, NL, Howard Jr. (Denise), Calgary, AB and Christopher (Ursula), St. John's, NL; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother: Norman (Agatha), St. Veronica's, NL; sister: Beatrice McDonald, St. Joseph's Cove, NL; sister in law: Philomena Barnes, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his granddaughter: Sonia Ward; brother: William; sister Estella Dollimont; parents: John & Jane Barnes. Funeral service on Monday February 27, 2017 at 2:30 pm at St. Ignatius R. C. Church, St. Alban's, NL with Father David Joy officiating. Interment at the R. C. Cemetery, St. Alban's, NL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home, St. Alban's.
