Passed away peacefully, in the loving presence of family, at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Jack, parents Michael and Emma Willcott, six brothers and one sister. Remembered lovingly by son Ivan, daughter-in-law Theresa, grandchildren Kevin and Ian, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was born in St. Alban's, NL on January 29, 1925. She will be remembered in St. Alban's for her involvement in parish committees. She also ran a convenience store "Jack's Mary's" which became a safe haven for teens and adults to come and share their stories. After the death of her soul-mate in 1991, Mary moved to the West Coast to be near Ivan and Theresa. She spent many years at Emile Benoit House in Stephenville Crossing where she shared her gifts of music, cooking, and sewing. After several years of illness, she moved to Stephenville with her son and his family. There she continued to entertain with music, song and stories. Mary was known as a caregiver and would do anything to help those in need. Wake services will be held at Russell's Funeral Home, Stephenville, on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 2-4 and 7-9. A wake will also be held at Hynes' Coast of Bays Funeral Home in St. Alban's on Tuesday Nov. 7 from 2-4 and 7-9.
